Valinda to Dholera Airport: Distance and Route

Admin05 October 2026
Valinda to Dholera Airport Route Guide

Valinda village is approximately 15–20 km from the Dholera International Airport site near Navagam, roughly a 20–25 minute drive. The route runs primarily via the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway (NH-751A) corridor and local SIR-area link roads. The airport itself is not yet commercially operational.

Proximity to the upcoming Dholera International Airport is one of the main reasons buyers look at Valinda village. Here's what that distance actually looks like on the ground, how to get there, and where the airport project currently stands.

Distance at a glance

Valinda village → Dholera Airport (Navagam): Approximately 15–20 km; around 20–25 minutes.

Valinda → Dholera SIR Activation Area: Short local drive; approximately 15–20 minutes.

Ahmedabad → Dholera Airport: Approximately 80 km; around 50 minutes via the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway.

Figures are compiled from public Dholera-region distance and infrastructure sources and are approximate; exact drive time depends on the specific plot, access road and final airport road layout.

Where the Airport Sits

Dholera International Airport is being built near Navagam village in Dholera taluka, Ahmedabad district, on a 1,426-hectare site. It sits roughly 80 km from Ahmedabad and about 20 km from the Dholera SIR Activation Area. Valinda, being one of the outside-SIR villages closer to this side of the region, ends up among the shorter airport commutes in the wider Dholera belt.

Route: how to get from Valinda to the airport

  • Via the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway (NH-751A): the 109 km greenfield expressway running from Sarkhej (Ahmedabad) to Adhelai (Bhavnagar) passes through the Dholera SIR and the Navagam airport corridor, making it the primary fast link for this stretch once you're on it.
  • Local and SIR link roads: the final stretch from Valinda to the airport site runs on local village and SIR-area roads rather than the expressway directly, since Valinda itself sits outside the core SIR boundary.
  • For outstation visitors: most buyers currently fly into Ahmedabad (SVPI Airport) and drive to Valinda via Bavla and the expressway corridor, since Dholera Airport itself is not yet handling commercial traffic.

Current status of Dholera Airport

As of this update, Dholera International Airport is not yet operational. The last official review (July 2026) placed construction at around 80% complete, with the 3,200-metre runway and ATC tower finished and full operational trials underway since March 2026. The Ministry of Civil Aviation had targeted commercial operations for September–October 2026, subject to DGCA aerodrome licensing — a target rather than a confirmed date. Treat the airport as a near-term growth driver that is still being commissioned, not a live amenity yet.

What this Means for a Valinda Plot

  • At ~15–20 km, Valinda sits closer to the airport site than many other outside-SIR villages in the belt, which is the core appeal cited for this location.
  • Road access to the airport will continue to improve as SIR-area and expressway link roads are completed; confirm the current state of the exact access route during a site visit.
  • Pair airport proximity with your own documentation checks — NA status, title and TP scheme position — rather than treating distance alone as the investment case.
